Sparkling White Sangria with Strawberries and Basil

Ingredients

simple syrup (1 cup water, 1 cup sugar)

basil leaves

bottles |
(750 ml) chilled Spanish Cava
|
|
1 |
pint |
fresh strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
|
|
1/2 |
cup |
white rum
|
|
|
|
garnish with fresh basil leaves
|
|
Directions:
Simple Syrup:
Add the water and sugar to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over low heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and remove from heat. Add the basil leaves and cool the liquid completely; remove and discard the basil leaves.
Combine the Spanish Cava, simple syrup, strawberries and rum.
Serve over ice and garnish with a couple of basil leaves.
